Using natural technology, the water is drained
biodrenage technology
Bilaspur. relief for waterlogged areas. 9 such species of trees have been identified, with the help of which the water accumulated on the surface can be drained in a natural way.
Biodrenage system. This is the name of the technique, designed specifically for waterlogged areas. The new technology will avoid damage to the crop due to waterlogging after heavy rainfall, while organic fertilizer will also be made from the leaves falling from these trees. Interestingly, insecticidal properties have also been found in the leaves of some species.

This is the biodrenage system
The species of trees that have been identified have the ability to absorb surface water. When planted close to the affected area, this species is ready in just three years. Some species in the test have then been found to be able to absorb up to 25% of water. The standard distance between two plants for planting will have to be taken care of.

A boon for such an area
The drainage of water accumulated in the fields after heavy rains has always been troublesome. This problem occurs every year in the deep land. Therefore, plants of these species can be planted in vacant land or Meadows close to such an area. Interestingly, the species that have been identified have been able to prepare themselves in any soil variety and even in adverse weather.

Species and potential
Among the 9 species of trees that have been considered capable of absorbing water, the main ones are eucalyptus, Arjuna,Kadamb, Karanj, thorn bamboo, desi Acacia, jamun, kjurina and solanaceous Acacia. It has Nilgiris at the top with 25.06 per cent capacity. Arjun, with 22.03 per cent capacity, is at the second position. Homegrown Acacia ranks third with 21.05 per cent capacity. The ability of the rest is also around them.

additional benefit
Trees that have been considered suitable in the biodrenage technique can be used as fuel. Their leaves have got the right for organic fertilizer. In the leaves of some species of trees, information has been revealed that there is a natural pesticide element, that is, the problem caused by waterlogging will be removed and organic fertilizer will also be prepared without cost.

This technology provides maximum income to farmers through production of food, fodder, fuel – wood and also helps in carbon sequestration and carbon credit.
